BLUE THUNDER: HOW MAFIA OWNED & FINALLY MURDERED CIGARETTE BOAT KING D. ARONOW
Published in Hardcover by Simon & Schuster (November, 1990)
Author: Thomas Burdick
Average review score:

Interested in Offshore Racing? Meet your idol, Mr Don Aronow
If you have an interest in offshore racing, take the time and read this compelling book about the father of the the industry. Ever heard of Thunderboat row? Find out the impact he had on some of the largest manufacturers in the country, and their attempts to to keep him out of the boat building business. You will learn about the rise and murder of Don Aronow and how state law enforcement of Florida(at the time led by the infamous Janet Reno) either bungled the investigation, or for whatever reason, let his death go unsolved. You will learn of the allegation that Don Aronow had ties to the mob, South American drug smugglers, and to the DEA. At the end you can surmise what you will of what his life was about, but you can't take away what he meant to the sport of offshore racing. Read it and pay homage.

Excellent . . . A Must for the boater and mob afficionado!!!
This book has to be the best summary of politics, drug running, the offshore powerboat industry, the Mafia, crime, corruption and intrigue that I have ever read!! Aronow was an old friend of my family's in New Jersey and when he got murdered we all waited for the book to come out, sure enough it did and was excellent. If you love the mob, fast boats, fast cars, fast horses and beautiful women, BLUE THUNDER is a MUST READ!! Enjoy . . . . . H.L., Florida

Blythe: NightVision
Published in Paperback by Thorby Enterprises, Inc. (05 October, 1998)
Authors: David Quinn, Hannibal King, Jeff Austin, Susan Dorne, Myke Maldonado, Kyle Hotz, David Quinn, and Hannibal King
Average review score:

A Textbook Defintion : Quinn and King's Nightvision
A first glance, brillance. At second glance, revelation. Then there's a burning in your heart. Because, there's nothing that could take the place of Blythe's story.

Make no mistake, as a poor observer to the long standing brillance that is maximus literatti personified, David Quinn gives as good as the reader can get, then feeds you more. Blythe's actions define woman personified: complex at definition by their actions, easily understandable at their core. Defined by the chaos around her, but rising above it, she is triumphant not through her therupatic killing of her kin, the other creatures of nightmare, but through the ascension of her coming to terms with matters of heart and soul. Make no mistake, Blythe, heroine to mankind, is our savior. And yet, like all those who seek martydom through heroism, she is flawed and fragile, compelling us not to pity, but to exalt and worship her.

Master Arcitect Quinn, blessed with Hannibal King's hands and eye, turn in one of the best well written, soul defining, horror stories ever. And this edition, presents the ascension as it should be read, as one contained book.

And to the Pantheons of tragic heroines : Pandora, Helen, Juliet...we add Blythe.

I said it before when this series was in comic form back in 1994, I'll say it again here.

"Quinn has written the defining book on female comic characters, the textbook for all others to study and follow from."

Do yourself a favor, and share souls with Blythe. Come to an understanding for yourself the beauty of this work.

I HIGHLY reccommend it!

What _Vampire_Lestat_ *wanted* to be, yet hadn't the guts!
Fiercely viscious, with a nearly-humanist subtext, BLYTHE pounds away the effeminate, androgynous millstone from the neck of the vampire mythos.

In an incredibly cinematic visual feast of nearly 200 pages, I was engorged with the film-noir delicacy of this book. I encourage anyone interested in truly SMART comics and graphic literature to buy, enjoy and share it.

... BOOFO IS TERRIFIC
I've been looking for this book as my daughter wants to get it for several gifts. I'll pass on to her that I found it. I have read it and seen the reaction of children to this book. It's absolutely delightful. What a shame that the above review from the School Library Journal is so unfavorable...
Get this book for your child or grandchild and it will become as traditional at Christmas Time as reading "Rudolph" or "The Snowman" is...... You'll enjoy it too!

Charming and sweet
This book is adorable, charming and sweet an absalute must for all you people who like to read.

Bookman Holy Bible: King James Version: Electronic Pocket Guide (Kjb-440)

Great tool
I agree with the last reviewer - this model is great. I bought the NIV with KJV add-in module so I can switch easily between the 2 versions. The large type setting is easy on "elderly" eyes - the screen is small but you only have to hit the spacebar to go to the next screen-full. With the Franklin Electronic Bible you can find passages or specific phrases quickly, so it is a fantastic help with everything from witnessing to Bible crossword puzzles. And it fits in most shirt pockets or hip pockets. A little pricey, perhaps, but worth it. Thanks to Him.

Love It, Love It, Love It.
I just wish I had this when I was young. I have been a bible student my whole life. But now that I am over the hill, I have such a hard time rememebering where my favorite verses are--now in a second or two I can find where they are in the Bible. In the Search area, you can enter or Bible verse or a word search. The word search will list all texts that have that particular word in them. Narrow the search by listing more words. Another plus is the text size. There are three sizes to chose from. If you have a hard time seeing, the large size is very helpful. I don't recommend the bible for just reading. It is mainly for studying. (well, it is also great for taking with you because it is so small.) Another big plus is the slot for another cartridge. I haven't use it yet but am sure that it will be a lot of fun. I would like to get the NIV version so that I can campare the two translations. If you get one of these bibles, everyone will want it--so make sure you keep good track of it. Or better yet buy two. You'll love it.

The Boy King

Essential
Whether you are a general devotee to Arthurian litterature or "just" a Pendragon player, this is one book you cannot do without. Apart from giving a deep game background, it also is an overwiew of nearly all medival Arthurian stories, fitted together in an unified historical timeline. The 4th edition version even completes the games list of horses!.
This book is an example of pure role-playing craftmanship, right from its beginning (where creating a campaign is compared to weaving a medival tapestry) to its end (one of the most elegant treatments of Arthurian chronology i have ever seen). People who want a slightly more "standard fantasy" (or as they would call it, "dark") version of Pendragon should find the earlyer chapters most intresting, while more serious players will find them usefull as a contrast to the more chivaleric periods. My personal favourite sections are the ones describing the late, decadent period of King Arthurs reign- very appropriate for making comments on "modern" England.
I could go on. The roman campaign! the Camelot random encounter table (with elements taken from disney rather than gary gygax)! The nun and the hare!
The best part of this book is that in spite of its rich, detailed material, much is left mysterious: it is both strange and vivid.
Or to put this slightly differently: this is the Pendragon dungeon masters guide. I find it difficult to imagine playing the game without it.

Long Live the King
One of my favourite features of the Pendragon system is the passing of time. Your characters grow older, get married, have kids and eventually reach such a state of infirmity that you are forced to retire them and start playing their children instead. However, even with a year passing every few game sessions it is hard to see many campaigns lasting for the full 80 years captured in the "Boy King". This resource is a vital tool for any GM who wants to run a campaign based around the life of Arthur. It is much more than just a timeline and contains a wealth of information to flesh out the (mythical) world of 6th century Britain.

British Royalty Commemoratives: 19th & 20th Century Royal Events in Britain Illustrated by Commemoratives
Published in Paperback by Schiffer Publishing, Ltd. (March, 1997)
Authors: Douglas H. Flynn and Alan Bolton
Average review score:

The most definitive Royal Commemorative book I've seen.
This is the most complete Royal Commemorative book I have yet to come across. It shows color and black and white photos of Royal Commemorative collectables past and present. With descriptive information and value. I am a avid collector and I consider this book to be my Bible. A must have for anyone who collects or is simply interested in the British Monarchy.

Well researched and illustrated. Worth 3 times the price!
If you have any interest in the Royal Family, in history, or in items commemorating significant events relating to the Royal Family, then this is a book you simply can't do without. Whether you're a collector, an enthusiast, or simply curious about the vast spectrum of items available, you will find this book a sheer delight. Color plates and an extensive black & white collector and price guide make this book invaluable for collectors, appraisers, or anyone interested in the growing fascination with the Royal Family - and the investment opportunities associated with commemorative items. Doug Flynn and Alan Bolton have set a benchmark that others will struggle to ever improve upon. Highly recommended.

Battleworthy Bible
Big enough to stop a bullet, but small enough for a jacket pocket. Big, Big print for a pocket Bible. Awesome verse ref. and Messianic prophesies. Survived Combat and two car accidents only one torn page. Only Bible I've ever had to survive total immersion in water and not become fat as a tree trunk!I keep buying other thin/pocket Bibles, but I always go back to this one. This will be my second time replacing from this same publisher. I ride a Harley with the Servants For Christ Motorcycle Ministry in all weather conditions. It has to be tough!

Holy Bible is truth.

Bronstein On the King's Indian
Published in Paperback by Everyman Chess (September, 1999)
Author: David Bronstein
Average review score:

Bronstein: On the King's Indian
An excellent introduction to the King's Indian Defence. It explains this difficult opening with great clarity. It assumes no previous knowlege, unlike most opening books that begin the expainations after several moves into the opening. Every move, plan, what all the chessmen do, and there likely moves, are explained from the FIRST MOVE! There are no dense lists of variations and sub-variations to make you eyes bleed and you will feel happy: it's an easy read. There are some test questions about the key elements of the KID. There are about three or four diagrams on each page, so following the explainations is a doddle. There are 64 annotated games and a further 50 games without annotation, so getting the 'feel' of the opening is also a doddle. This book has proved its worth for me. I've had little sucsess with the KID until I read this gem. I'm a weak club player, (70 BCF, circa. 1260 USCF) but now I'm a little stronger... :)

KID must. Both sides explained at last.
An excellent choice for interm and advanced alike. Not directly written by David, but directed by his analysis and games.Chief advisor is none other than G. Kasparov. An entire section on the role of every piece for both sides of the KID complete with examples.Aimed at understanding the ideas behind this opening and not the memorizing of variations.A noteworthy addition to any woodpusher's library. (uscf B-class player)
